Step 1 - Make sure you are eligible
Before you begin You can apply for a CUA Term Deposit Account in four easy steps. It should only take a few minutes to complete the application. Already a CUA member? Save time by applying through Online Banking. Simply logon, on the left side menu click Apply Now and select Open Term Deposit on the main screen.

What information will we need to complete your Term Deposit application? Personal details We'll ask you to provide your name, date of birth, current residential address, previous residential address, phone numbers, current e-mail address and Tax File Number. To verify your identity we ask for the details of your driver's licence or passport. It is not compulsory for you to provide your Tax File Number, however we may deduct withholding tax from any interest you earn if we don't have your Tax File Number or a TFN exemption code. Direct debit account details If you intend to deposit money into this account using a direct debit we ask you to provide the BSB, account number and account name of the existing account you will use to transfer the funds. Please note: We may ask you for more information once you have submitted your online application.
Becoming a member Membership of CUA is required to open a Term Deposit account. By continuing with the application you agree to become a member of CUA and a Member Share will be allotted to you. Opening of a linked CUA Everyday account If you do not already have an everyday transaction account with CUA, we will open a CUA Everyday Account with Visa Debit card for you as part of your Term Deposit application. The CUA Everyday Account will be used to receive funds deposited with us immediately prior to the commencement of the Term Deposit.

Consent for electronic identity verification against Credit Bureau
We are required by law to verify who you are. To do this as efficiently as possible, we check that the identity information you have supplied in this application matches your details held with credit bureaus such as Dun & Bradstreet, Veda or Experian. This process won’t be recorded on your credit history or in any way alter your credit history. 1.By continuing with your application, you consent to Credit Union Australia Ltd disclosing your name, residential address and date of birth to a credit reporting agency for the purpose of conducting an electronic identity verification. 2. You also consent to us requesting and the credit reporting agency providing an assessment of whether the personal information provided by you matches (in whole or in part) personal information contained in a credit information file in the possession or control of the credit reporting agency to assist in verifying your identity for the purposes of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Act 2006.
